In this video tutorial, I’m going to show you how to fasten off in crochet so you can achieve a smooth invisible finish when you come to the end of your project.
This is a very quick and simple technique that I think you will absolutely love! It gives you a neat invisible join without too much effort after all that hard work you have put into completing your crochet pieces.

You can use this on various crochet projects whether you are working in rounds or rows. I will be using single crochet in this tutorial but you can also use this technique with double crochet or with any basic crochet stitches.

How to Finish off Crochet Seamlessly?
If you are a perfectionist like me, then you probably don’t like using the tradional fasten off method. You are left with an unsightly bump and a knot that doesn’t look quite right.
This is why you should start using the invisible finish fasten off which will help to bring your crochet creation to the next level!
Give it a try and you will see that you will achieve a beautiful clean finish and smooth edges every single time.

How to Fasten off in Crochet: Invisible Finish Tutorial
Before you start watching my video tutorial, have a quick glance at these steps that describe this technique in detail:
– follow the crochet pattern to complete your crochet project
– end with the final stitch of the last round or row and do not slip stitch
– remove your crochet hook, grab your pair of scissors and cut the yarn off leaving a long tail
– pull the yarn out of the last loop and thread your yarn needle
– skip the first stitch and insert the yarn needle into the following stitch (Pic 1)
– pull the needle through the whole stitch and pull the yarn out all the way
– insert the needle back into the last stitch but go through the center of the stitch – this is the back loop of the stitch (Pic 2)
– pull on the yarn tight and you will notice you have created a new stitch which is indentical to the other stitches (Pic 3 & 4)
– now all there is left to do is to weave the yarn in on the wrong side of your crochet work and cut the remaining tail off
And that’s it! Hopefully you are happy with the final result and will use this technique on all of your future projects. 🙂

how does this work in rows or don’t you use in rows thanks
Hi Debbie, you could use this in rows, e.g. if you need to finish mid row.
