Crochet Heart Pillow Pattern: Materials & Tools

I recommend using a velvet yarn for extra soft plush feel. But you can also use 100% acrylic or a blend of acrylic yarn and wool.

I also recommend using this yarn weight: Bulky Weight Yarn #5 = Chunky. But the pattern will also work with Super Bulky #6 = Super Chunky such as blanket yarn.

Have a read of my Best Yarn for Amigurumi Crochet tutorial to find out which yarn is the best for making Amigurumi.

Yarn I used:

– Bulky #5 = Chunky

– 100% polyester

– 1x ball of red yarn for one heart – James C. Brett Flutterby Chunky – colour B31 – (100g/175m)

– 1x ball of pink yarn for the other heart – James C. Brett Flutterby Chunky – colour B47 – (100g/175m)

– one ball is just about enough to crochet the heart so keep your tails short when starting the magic rings

Crochet hook size: I used 4 mm hook = G/6 but refer to the instructions on your yarn label if using different weight of yarn.

Tools used: scissors, tapestry needle, stitch marker, polyester stuffing

  1. Hi! I have a question for you— I’m making the heart pillow, but I’d like to flip it inside out since the inside (wrong side) of my project looks neater than the outside. Do you have any tips on how to do this? Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi Sydney, you would have to crochet the heart almost to the end (without stuffing it gradually) and leave a small opening so you are able to flip it inside out. But you would have to finish the heart and close it by crocheting on the wrong side which would be on the outside now. This means the last few rounds would look different though. I’m afraid this is the only way to do it.

      Love,
      Petra x
